Unraveling the Mystery

Don't get lost in confusing web terminology. You might know exactly what CMS is...then again, you might not. So let's demystify some of those terms.

Discovery and Design Choices - In the first phase of designing your website, we do a discovery process, which is simply a series of questions about you and your business, your likes and dislikes, color choices, design elements, etc. This will allow us to design a website that fits you best!

CMS - Content Management System. We want you to be able to make minor changes to your site on your own, so not only have we made it easy to do so, we're also giving you an hour to show you how.

Responsive - Responsive refers to the way in which a website can adapt to work on mobile devices.

Website Analytics - This is what allows you to check up on your site's progress. You can view all kinds of stats on page views and number of visitors each month.

Fine Tuning - This is a common term, but it's worth knowing that when we say "fine-tuning", it means so much more! We test each page and button before showing you the first draft. Then you get an opportunity to turn in a change list so that anything you don't like is modified to your liking.

SEO - Search Engine Optimization. You may have heard of it before, but why is it so important? SEO refers to the optimization we do to pages in order to make them visible on the first few pages of your potential customer's relevant google searches. The higher up your google search page ranking, the more likely visitors are to come to your site!

Hosting - This is the act of "renting" space online. You rent your domain name which is basically your parking space online. You may notice that our hosting is priced a tad higher than most big-box companies. You might be asking "why?". There are 2 necessary services that we supply which most big-box companies charge extra for...but they sneak it in when they see you're desperate. These 2 services are: phone support (for if you have any web issues) and updating to prevent hackers from infiltrating your site. You'll need both services, so we provide both upfront. With The Hill you'll get 5 hours of support per year plus regular updates. With The Butte, you'll get 10. With The Peak, you'll get 15. We want your site to be bullet-proof!
